Description:Rescue operation after the derailment of a train.

Spectators can be seen behind the wooden fencing on the right of the photograph.

One of the first people that were at the scene of the accident was a miner from Cannock pit, William Goode of Great Bridgeford, who was able to help dig out the engine from the embankment using his skills and knowledge of mining.
