Description:Street scene taken at Stafford Street, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

This street was re-named The Strand in the 1950s.

Note the tramline and tram. These were a regular feature in most cities at this time but started being phased out during the 20s and 30s as motor cars became more prevalent.

This is one of many street scenes in the Blake Collection. Most of them were taken in the Longton, Normacot, Dresden areas near to where Blake lived in Cobden Street.
