Date:1869 - 1871 (c.)

Description:Morning prayers were taken in the corridor of the women's prison; services were performed in the chapel. When the chapel was rebuilt in 1852 a gallery was installed at the southern end for the female inmates, designed so they could not be seen by the male prisoners.

Originally the gaol only held Church of England services; a Catholic priest was not appointed until 1866.
