Date:1905

Description:Family members sit in a back garden for a formal portrait in the Edwardian period. A keen amateur photographer probably took this posed shot with a plate camera.
A middle class family, the photographer would be using a camera a little better than a Box Brownie; probably a glass-plate bellows camera. This would give a much better image quality than a smaller snapshot camera. Note the young boy's big Dalton Collar.
