Description:Hildersheim German House School was a private school for girls. The school was reputedly run by a Miss Rushton or Shuttleworth. Reputedly the children's meals were stale bread and milk whilst the mistresses ate more substantial fare in front of them. The present Tamworth Fire Station's married quarters stand on the same site, at the back of Lichfield street.
