Description:The Tamworth branch of the (Manchester based) Independent Order of Oddfellows', one of many local benevolent societies before the days of the welfare state. Subscriptions were taken on a Monday at the (now demolished) Star Inn in Lower Gungate Street. Bernard Lathbury (a plummer) can be seen on the extreme left back row. On the middle row fifth from the left is Mr Edward Coates.
