Description:This photograph was taken during the demolition of a half timbered building in Upper Gungate by the Cole family. E.J. Cole (senior) is seen here on the right, with his son Fred in the centre. E.J. Cole demolished a row of cottages and the end wall in order to build his shop and funeral parlour (now the Co-op funeral business).
