Description:The Second Contingent of Tamworth Volunteers, who served in the South African War during 1901, taken in the courtyard of Tamworth Castle. On the front row are, Col. Sergt. S. Pownell, Privates; W. Harvey, T. Dickenson, W. Hinchliffe, A. Claridge, and C. Norton, and Capt. C.E. Boote (Stafford company). On the rear row are Privates, A. Roberts, A.H. Weale, H. Johnson, and C. Storer.
