Description:The Trent and Mersey canal was built by James Brindley between 1766 and 1777 and transported raw materials and finished goods to and from a large number of pottery factories in Stoke-on-Trent. The factory in the centre of this picture is Dunn Bennett Potts and the one to the right is Longport Pottery.
