Date:1907

Description:This was an annual church procession originating in Leek and generally involving young adults. The Band of Hope was a movement closely allied to the Temperance movement. This march was led by the Congregationalists, their minister Rev. John Hoatson and lay leaders Isaac Heath, George Brookes, and J. Giles. The banner held aloft belongs to the West Street Methodist Sunday School. Just like on 'Club Day' the marchers congregated in the Market Place where a short service was held.
