Description:A studio portrait of Christina Russell (nee Bell) originally from Dysart in Kircaldy Fifeshire, Scotland. Her husband was one of the partners in the Leek silk manufacturing firm of Ellis, Russell and Clowes.They lived at 54 Spout Street, which is now St. Edward Street.

Ellis, Russell and Clowes' mill was situated at the top of West Street. Later owners of the mill were Stephen Goodwin & Tatton. The factory burnt down in the mid 1940s and the site was later occupied by the Leek Income Tax office.
