Date:23rd of July 1929

Description:Prince Edward VIII and party leaving a Bass building in No. 2 Brewery, following a tour with Colonel John Gretton. He was visiting the town as part of its Jubilee celebrations. He arrived at Bass's Meadow by aeroplane and was driven to the Town Hall, where he inspected a guard honour and accepted an address of welcome from the Mayor. He then visited Bass’s breweries, the War Memorial at Peel Croft, Branston Artificial Silk Factory, the Pirelli Motor Tyre Factory, and the India Rubber Company’s Silvertown works.
