Description:Crowds of people watching a military march past outside the Ancient High House during Peace Celebrations at the end of the First World War. During the day’s events, the Mayor of Stafford, Cllr Joseph Rushton, and the Corporation watched a march past in front of the Shire Hall in Market Square by the 3rd Battalion of the Bedfordshire Regiment. Gaolgate, the Market Square and Greengate Street were decorated with flags of several nations and Venetian style poles supporting bunting over the street.

On the ground floor of the High House can be seen William Marson's shop and J. Cowley's tailors shop.
