Description:A caricature by 'Ape' of Granville George Leveson-Gower, 2nd Earl Granville, published in 'Vanity Fair', 13 March 1869. Born in London, he was a Liberal politician and was Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs under William Gladstone's governments. He owned coal and ironstone mines around Stoke-on-Trent and was the principal shareholder of the Shelton Iron & Steel Company. He owned property at Stone Park, Stone and Walmer, kent.
