Description:Prime Minister James Callaghan on a visit to Enderley Mills.

Enderley Mills were founded in 1881 by Richard Stanway and specialised in the manufacture of uniforms. At the time of Stanway's ownership the Mill was viewed as a model one by the Government Inspector, as it included a surgery, creche, reading room, and savings bank. After Stanway's bankruptcy in 1884, John Hammond and Company, became the Mills' new owner and continued the production of uniforms. The Mill no longer exists and was a retail unit in 2002.
