Description:Erected in 1907, the clock tower commemorates William Adams, a prominent pottery manufacturer in Tunstall. The Adams family operated the Greengates and Greenfield potteries amongst others. Panels around the base of the tower record details of members of the Adams family.

Work on Victoria Park began in June 1897 to designs drawn up by architect Absolom Reade Wood, Surveyor for Tunstall Urban District Council. The boating lake was constructed in 1903-1904, and bowling greens, tennis courts and a pavilion were built in 1904. The Adams Clock Tower was added in 1907 and the opening of the ornamental gates on 18 June 1908 marked the formal opening of the park. A bandstand was added in 1909 and the Floral Hall completed in 1911.
