Description:Pictured is the Green Bridge which spans the River Sow, on Bridge Street, Stafford.

On the extreme left there are the two roof gables of the Coach and Horses public house on Mill Bank, the next lower building was demolished and later replaced by a block of appartments. Centre right by the Green Bridge, the shop with signs advertising Hovis bread was at one time owned by Mr Jenkinson, a baker and confectioner, it has also been known as ‘the Old Pork Pie shop’ and in the 1950s it was the Bridge Café. The building remains (December 2021), for several years it was known as the Curry Kuteer restaurant and later it became the Bengal Lounge. On the right on the river, rowing boats and canoes could be hired from 'Old Joe' the boat man, whose boatyard was located at the side of the Royal Brine Baths (out of shot of the camera), which was demolished in 1977.
