BARIC Computing Services Ltd. was located on the Nelson Industrial Estate in Kidsgrove. It was a joint venture of International Computers Ltd. (ICL), and Barclays Bank, and provided computer services. In the early days of computing many organisations put their work out to computer service companies, also known as Computer Bureaus.
