Description:Kate was the eldest daughter of Edwin Oakley, the Penkridge Postman and a well known local character, and Eliza née Fisher. She was born in 1880 and in 1903, she married Alfred Ernest Haywood, who would become Stafford's Chief Fire Officer in 1920. Kate died in 1947 and was buried at Eccleshall Road cemetery, Stafford.
