Description:Members of the Stafford and District Symphony Orchestra have a busy season before them, with a concert in Stafford planned for November and another for the Spring. Please contact us if you recognise anyone in the photograph.

The Orchestra, who rehearsed every Friday evening under their conductor, Miss Maude Smith (County Music Advisor), had played at a concert given in honour of Vaughan Williams’ 80th birthday at the Civic Hall, Wolverhampton, on Wednesday 15 October 1952. The concert was given by Staffordshire Schools including Stafford Girls’ High School and King Edward VI School, a youth choir, which contained a contingent from Stafford, the Staffordshire Teachers Choir and the Women’s Institutes’ Choir and the Stafford Symphony Orchestra conducted by Miss Maude Smith.
