Description:Pictured is Mr A Hawkins, of the Lotus Club, winner of the individual snooker championship of the Stafford and District Institutes Billiards and Snooker League, being congratulated by the Chairman, Mr T H Venables. Looking on, from left to right are: Mr R C Kay (Referee), Mr J Connor (Marker), Mr C Baddeley, British Legion (Runner Up) and Mr J J Ditchfield (Secretary).

The finalists played before a large number of snooker enthusiasts at the English Electric. A Hawkins won the match against C Baddeley in the first two frames by 50-35 and 66-32.
