Description:These youngsters are waiting to start eating at their first Christmas party arranged for pupils of the new Flash Ley School, Stafford, on the afternoon of Monday 17 December. Please contact us if you recognise anyone in the photograph.

This was the first big social occasion held at the School since it opened in September. The hall was decorated with paper decorations and balloons and the children enjoyed a party tea arranged by the canteen staff, which was followed by a film show, given by Dr J M Cowan, Chairman of the School Managers. They all sang carols and were visited by Santa Claus who had a present, which was a bag of sweets and an apple for each child. The apples were given by a local grocer and funds for the party and gifts were raised at a “bring and buy” sale.
