Date:31st of July 1905

Description:A 'pannier-tank' steam train waiting to depart in the direction of Cannock. The road bridge passes over the tracks in the background. The Booking Hall was reached from the far side of the road. The wooden hall had a central ticket office opposite the entrance door with covered steps either side giving access to the platforms below. The bridge dates to 1875. A fire in 1876 destroyed the earlier station buildings but the bridge was saved and the replacement was attached to the bridge. Empty coal wagons can be seen on the industrial rail lines on the left
