Description:Crakemarsh Hall was extensively rebuilt in 1815 around the staircase of a late 17th century house. It was the home of Lady Sheppard in the mid 19th century and later the Cavendish family. US troops were billeted there during the 2nd World War. In the early 1970s it was acquired by JCB for residential use and Anthony Bamford lived there. it was abandoned and mostly demolished in 1980, with the rest demolished in 1998.
