Description:In the centre of this aerial view postcard is Penkridge Market taken on a market day. The market was established in 1978 and is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, it remains (November 2021) a feature of the village.

Centre top is the road traffic island on Stone Cross at the junction with Crown Bridge; on the left of the island are the three gables of the White Hart, which dates from around 1600. Centre right the Littleton Arms dating from 1972 can be seen and on the extreme right is St. Michael and All Angels Church which dates from the 13th century. In the foreground is the ‘Seven Arches’ railway viaduct over the River Penk.

The photographer of this limited edition postcard was James Price Photography, Penkridge. It is one of 1000 copies of the original photograph, printed and published by Noel Tatt Ltd., Lyminge, Folkestone, Kent.
