Description:Alderman Robert Beresford is pictured here during his Mayoral year, standing outside his cinema. He is possibly inspecting the tram lines. Beresford owned two cinemas, opening the Pavilion Cinema in 1922 and the Regal in 1931. Notice the motorcycle side car on the right hand side being filled up with petrol. This garage was called Pickin's and was on the edge of Red Lion Square.
