Description:This photograph shows many areas of the town that have now been developed. The central area of this photograph has changed a great deal, with the building of the Civic Offices and Sainsbury's. Also the area in the bottom right hand corner has now changed, with the building of the Midway car park and offices.

The Municipal Hall in the Ironmarket can be seen to the right, which dates this photograph to being before 1965, when demolition of the building started.

The Almshouses at the very bottom of Bridge Street, can just be made out on the left of this photograph.
