Women's dinner dress

Description:Dinner dress, consisting of bodice and skirt in one piece. Black linen and black net. Bodice: black net decorated with strips of silk decorated with black beads. Symmetrical design. Round neck with back opening and hook and eye fastening. Short kimono sleeves. Pleated black silk waist band. High waist. Skirt: 8 pieces with strips of satin between panels. Dress has loose black silk underskirt with pleated frill at hem. Bodice lined in black cotton.

Belonged to a member of the Simms family of Abbots Bromley.
