Description:A view of the indoor riding school owned by Mr T. Timmis, believed to be the man on the horse, far right. Mr Timmis owned Standon Bridge Riding School but was keen to find a venue protected from the weather, so opened an indoor school in part of the covered market building on Penkhull Street (now High Street) in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The building was later used as a roller-skating rink known as Rollerdromes Ltd. and as a corporation garage, before being demolished in 1961.

Gerald McCann of High Street, Uttoxeter.
