Date:1903

Description:This Armitage pictorial postcard picture was taken in Church Lane, Armitage and shows Church Farm on the left and in the centre is St. John the Baptist Church.

A note about this early postcard: due to the Postal Regulations at the time it was only possible to write a message on the photograph side of the postcard and in this case in the white space on the right and below the picture. The reverse of the card was only for the address. During late 1902 the Postal Regulations changed and it became possible to write a message on the same side of the card as the address.

This postcard was franked first in Armitage and later in Rugeley on 16 July 1903 and sent to an address near to Newport, Shropshire.
