Description:The water mill at Mavesyn Ridware. The disused mill wheel and bridge over the mill race can be seen to the right.

The mill which had been used to grind corn was last used around 1891 and much of it was pulled down in 1912-13. In February 1889 it was the scene of a tragedy when 33 year old Alfred Hiram Benton, who had been the miller there for 6 years, was killed when he attempted to stop the mill and was crushed between the wheel and the mill wall.
