Description:Paragon China Works on Sutherland Road. The works were operated by Aynsley & Irving from 1897, and was initially called Star China. They specialised in breakfast and tea bone china ware exporting to Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Over the name board are three coats of arms: the Royal Warrants of Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth II. Later under Royal Doulton ownership, the factory closed in 1991.
