Description:Officials and guests looking out at Large White sows during the visit of Mr R.S. Hudson MP, Minister of Agriculture, to the Staffordshire War Agricultural Executive Committee at Mr P.H. Mercer's Farm, Manor Farm, Harlaston

Percy Mercer started farming at Manor Farm in about 1923 and gained a reputation for his herd of Large White pigs. The Mercer family continued to breed pigs at Manor farm until it was sold in 1983. The site is now occupied by housing at Churchside.
