Description:The description on the front of this postcard view is: ‘Crown Club 1914’. The picture was taken on Crown Bank, Market Place, Abbots Bromley.

On the left are cottages and in the centre behind the motor car is the village Post Office. On the right is a glimpse of the Crown Hotel which in later years became known as the Crown Inn. All these buildings remain (September 2020). Also on the right is a part view of a group of soldiers, one of whom is holding a bass drum. In the foreground the large banner belonging to the Bagot Lodge no. 770 of the M. U. (Manchester Unity) of Oddfellows, Abbots Bromley.
