Description:A postcard view looking along Bird Street with the Post Office on the left and the Swan Hotel on the right. Around 1970 the Post Office was converted into an Arts Centre, but has since been demolished and replaced by New Minster House, a new development with a restaurant, retail area and several apartments. The Swan Hotel closed around 2000 and was covnverted into apartments.

This postcard was published by Valentine’s. It was franked in Whittington on 9 July 1906 and sent to an address in London.
