Description:This photograph looks west across Rudyard Lake towards competitors in the annual Dragon Boat Race. Rudyard Sailability organise this yearly fund raising event which takes place in some of the outstanding scenery of the Staffordshire Moorlands.

Rudyard Lake is a reservoir which was constructed in 1797 by engineer John Rennie to feed the Caldon Branch of the Trent & Mersey Canal. It is around 2.5 miles long and covers roughly an area of 168 acres. Over the years and up to the present day, the lake has been used for numerous leisure activities, including boating, fishing and walking.
