Description:S.J. Gilbert & Co.'s general and fancy drapers shop at 35 and 37 High Street, Stone. The business opened around 1900 as Hart, Gilbert and Robertson. Gilbert's also acted as milliners, tailors, mantle makers, house furnishers and undertakers. They had a second shop at 57 High Street. These buildings at 35 and 37 High Street were demolished around 1980 and rebuilt and are now (2020) occupied by Francesco's hairdressers and the Salvation Army and British Heart Foundation charity shops.
