Description:A postcard view of the main doorway to the Roman Catholic Church of St. Giles, Cheadle. Designed by A.W.N. Pugin and built in 1841-6 for the 16th Earl of Shrewsbury. The red painted doors are made from English oak, with rampant lions in gilt from the Earl’s coat of arms. St. Giles is recognised as a masterpiece of Victorian architecture.

This postcard was published by J Sargeant-Hall, Cheadle, 1990. It was printed by the Lakefield Printing Company Ltd. Brighouse, Yorkshire.
