Description:This multi-view postcard of Stone shows scenes of Station Road, Sand Hole and the Plot Entrance on Old Road in Stone.

The middle image shows the Lion's Den caves which were located in the north of Stone and were formed by quarrying for sandstone. The caves were filled in in the mid 1960s and now form part of the Common Plot.

The bottom image is looking north along Old Road with the Common Plot to the left. The houses to the right were demolished when new housing on Princes Street and York Street was built between the wars.

This postcard was published by A W Tilley, Photographer, Stone. It was franked in Stone on 7 August 1913 and it was sent to an address in Blackpool.
