Date:1907

Description:A postcard view of the National Provincial Bank on High Street, Stone. The Victorian Gothic arches were inserted into the ground floor of an existing building around 1863. The National Provincial Bank merged with the Westminster Bank to become the National Westminster Bank in 1968, at which point the bramch pictured closed and the old District Bank on Granville Square became the National Westminster Bank. The building was later occupied by Sheba Travel Agents during the 1980s and Stafford College Learning Centre between 2000 and 2005. Since 2006 it has been a dental surgery.

This postcard was franked in Stone on 24 December 1907 and sent with “Best wishes for the Season” to an address in Stone.
