Description:Exterior of A. Bentley & Co., grocers, bakers and provision merchants at 1 & 2, Railway Street, Stafford. Albert Bentley was born at Weston, near Stafford in 1879. He opened his first shop at Railway Street, Stafford by 1911, where he lived with his wife, Lucy, his daughter Phyllis (born 1909), his mother Eliza (born 1840) and a domestic servant, Cissy Cooper (aged 15 in 1911). By 1921 he had moved to larger premises at 8, Gaol Square. He died in Stafford in 1950.
