Description:A postcard view of what is now the A34 Cannock to Stafford Road disappearing into the distance. The Penkridge to Rugeley Road comes from the left and onwards to what was, during World War I, Rugeley Camp. This road junction is now (May 2020) a roundabout.

The gateway and narrow track to the right of the crossroads is leading to the Pottal Pool and what would also become a lido with rowing boats for hire and a bathing lido for open-air swimming. In later years the site became a large aggregate quarry meeting the ever increasing demands of local buildings and road construction.

Just behind the finger post is an old entrance to the Teddesley Estate. Old wrought iron gates have recently been erected there showing the route of the old track.
