Description:The dedication of the Church at Perton on Saturday 2 October 1982. On the right is Deaconness Sheila Finn, Minister for Perton. Unveiling the plaque if Rt. Rev. Kenneth Skelton, Lord Bishop of Lichfield.

Soon after construction of housing on the former Perton Airfield site started in 1972, Church of England and United Reformed Church members, Anglicans and Methodists began meeting together for services, initially in each other's homes, and later in the Upper Room, the top floor of the former Control Tower. They moved into the newly erected Community Centre. The Church at Perton was built in 1982, unusually catering for Anglican and free Church worshippers.
