Description:This seemingly bland photograph contains a few interesting facets of the Camp. The soldiers are walking down Hollywood Slade toward the outskirts of Brocton village. The fresh track above them to the right of the image covers some of the miles of sewer pipes which were laid to take away and process the waste water from the Camp. There were two large filter beds serving Brocton Camp, one down Mere Valley and the other at the far end of Old Acre Lane by the present pond. Above this track on the skyline is the outline of huts belonging to Battalion Lines 'E', 'F' and 'G' with the odd flagpole visible. On the left-hand side of the hill is the freshly dug earth that supported the military railway which came up from the main line at Milford behind the Barley Mow public house.
