Description:Wheelwright George H. Bennett at work on Swynnerton Main Street. The wheelwrights was a family business, established during the 19th century. The ownership passed through several hands including George Pilsbury Bennett, who was killed in Belgium in 1917, and his elder brother John Pilsbury Bennett who took over the business after his death. The workshop eventually became a motor garage.

Comment from Gabrielle Battrick:
'My grandmother, Beatrice Maud Gosling was the eldest child of John Gosling from The Firzherbert Arms and sweetheart of George Pilsbury Bennett, who sent her a letter the night before he was killed in Belgium on 9 July 1917. She went on to marry his elder brother, John Pilsbury Bennett, and their son, my father, George Bennett was born on 9 July 1924. In December 1926 John Pilsbury Bennett died from a head injury following a bicycle accident.'
