Description:This hexagonal stone building is the Conduit, which housed the outlet of the town's water supply, piped from a spring on Rummer Hill. The Cannock Conduit Trust was formed in 1735 to bring fresh drinking water from a spring to the people of Cannock. Though the water pumps were closed down in the 1940s the Trust itself is still operational today. The Conduit Head is still a feature in Cannock and two of the original pumps have been restored and placed close to their original sites.
