Description:The Valley Mines Training Centre in Valley Road, Hednesford closed in 1982, and since 1989 has housed the Museum of Cannock Chase, previously named The Valley Heritage Centre'. It was once part of the Valley Colliery complex on Hednesford Hills. The colliery was originally called the Pool Pit, named after the large pool,mlater drained, that is now the site of Hednesford Park.
