Date:November 1921

Description:A crowd stand in front of the scorched and boarded premises of Hawkinsons' Chemist, surveying the damage to Huggins and Chambers, ironmongers and vendors of "Witchem's Firelighters", 3 High Street. The shop on the left is Harper's newsagents and amongst the crowd is a young Bob Harper who ran the shop in the 1940s and 1950s. This image is No.5 in a series of postcards taken by Alfred McCann in the aftermath of the fire.
