Description:This elaborate panel on a white silk background features peacocks with green velvet plumage decorated with purple, pink, yellow, white and silver thread, bugle beads and sequins. The panel is the work of the Leek Embroidery Society, who were based next door to Lady Elizabeth Wardle's house, 54 St. Edward Street. The embroidery was formerly part of the permanent display of Leek embroidery at the Nicholson Institute.
