Date:1967

Description:The Armitage branch of Barclays Bank which stood on New Road. It was unusual for a village of Armitage's size to have a bank, but this was probably due to the presence of a large workforce at the nearby Armitage Shanks factory. Now demolished, the site has been occupied by the premises of the Armitage branch of the British Legion since 1973.
